This website is dedicated to Misty Rose, a very sweet, gentle bunny who had a special place in the heart of many at MCRS. Misty Rose came to us as an older adult after spending her life to that point in a neglectful situation that led to her losing several teeth and suffering from arthritis. Even though she'd had a horrible life prior to coming to MCRS, she quickly blossomed into a happy house bunny. It took her only two days to convince her first foster home that she didn't really need a cage, thank you. She had her freedom 24/7, earned the title "Queen of the House", and became matriarch of our many foster bunnies.

Misty Rose loved to watch Minnesota Wild Games and would sit happily on the end of the couch during a game, retiring to her cage for potty breaks between periods.

She was a real lap bunny and loved to spend evenings cuddling on the couch with her foster mom.

She also enjoyed the company of cats and even taught the cat to beg for her supper!

Misty Rose developed bone cancer in December of 2003, about the time that work was beginning on this website. Although her attitude was always positive, the cancer was very aggressive. After all Misty Rose had been through in her life, we just couldn't let her suffer the slow, painful end that was inevitable. Just two days before Christmas, we wrapped her up in a special fleece blanket with hearts all over it and took her to the vet for the last time. Misty Rose was such an amazingly special bunny. We are glad we had the opportunity to know her and give her a chance to be the spoiled house bunny she so deserved to be (and wasn't afraid to let you know it!). We will miss her expectant looks when it was time for pellets to be served, her quiet enjoyment of sitting on our laps, and her obvious enjoyment of life in general.
