Please mark your calendars! This year\'s Hop To The Rescue Walk-a-thon to benefit the Minnesota Companion Rabbit Society will be held on Saturday, September 18 from 9:00 am to noon. This year, MCRS will be hosting a bunfest with games and events for you and your rabbit in conjunction with the walk-a-thon. Stay tuned for more details about the event.

Sunny Bunny goes home!

Sunny Bunny (Leah) was picked up from the Maple Grove PETCO and went home with her new family on April 8th. Sunny Bunny\'s new family met with me twice in the prior week to play and socialize with her; they all fell in love immediately — Sunny Bunny\'s sister human, a 10-year-old girl, was eating out of her hands by the end of the first meeting. Sunny\'s new family had been researching rabbits for the last year and were really excited to have found their rabbit and bring her home.

Report on MCRS/AHS March 20th adoption event
')

Two weeks ago, MCRS participated in a joint effort with the Animal Humane Society (AHS) to help adopt out rabbits living in shelters. The AHS shelters saw an increase in rabbit surrenders and looked to MCRS for some help to educate the public on the wonderful ways of rabbits, in addition to helping a few rabbits find new homes.

Princess and Fefu were adopted from the Woodbury shelter. An adopter commented, "You guys offer a great service! I got more information on our new bunny than I did when we brought my daughter home from the hospital!"

Bolo was adopted from the Coon Rapids shelter. Bolo had been at AHS since last October and was eager to move to his forever home!

We also moved a rabbit named Stewart into MCRS foster care due to some cage guarding behavior at the shelter.

Oliver gets adopted!

Oliver\'s adoption is complete, and he is now at his home entertaining his new family. We think that fun-loving, happy-go-lucky Oliver is a great match for Lynette\'s two kids, Katie and Nick. Oliver befriended Katie the first time they met and melted from Nick\'s perfect neck-rubs — talk about')

Local home explodes, nearby MCRS alumni safely evacuated

On Tuesday, Feb 23, a home in Edina exploded due to a gas leak. No one was home and even the family dog managed to escape. That home was just two doors down the street from an MCRS alumni bunny — Naomi. Fortunately, while their hous')
