"We just wanted to write a little note to tell you that Angel has been a great addition to our family. As soon as we let her out of the carrier, she ran right to my oldest son and started licking him. We put her in her new cage and she christened it with pellets, then jumped up to her shelf for a nap. Later that evening, she was at the door digging to get out so we opened it up and she spent the evening with us. Every morning she gets a bowl of pellets, and then some free run time before we have to leave for work and school. When we leave, we give her a nice salad or her favorites like parsley, spinach, ka')
document.write('le and red lettuce before heading off for the day. When we come home, she gets to come out again. She likes to explore under beds and in boxes. Last night, she started playing with a water bottle and provided us with some bunny antics throwing it around, and dragging it under the bed and back out. It only took her one day to get used to the dog. The dog wants to play with her, but she just looks at her and hops away. She loves all three kids, and showers them all with bunny kisses. My favorite thing is to spend time petting and massaging her — She just melts into the floor.

"I just wanted to inform you of some sad news. Pepper (the gray and white of the piggies from the Spice Trio) is no longer with us. For the past few months, Pepper had been slowing down. After a consultation with my vet about removal of a tumor on his back we decided to take some x-rays. He had been showing some signs of pain in regards to his hind limbs recently and I wanted to have that checked out prior to him going under the knife. Turns out he had some very severe arthritis and the tumor was deeper than we had previously imagined. I ended up deciding to help him to the next world, which was a very hard and sad decision.

"His brothers Amos (white piggy) and Mickey (black and white) and sister Cinnamon (Dutch) will miss his presence. I will be spending some extra time for the next little while with Cinnamon as she seemed to have been very fond of little Pepper. He was her favorite to groom."

We were told that Pepper was five years old when he came to MCRS back in April 2006 so that would have made him nine years old when he passed away! That\'s an incredibly long life for a guinea pig. "Boots is doing really great — he seems very happy to finally have')
document.write(' a house of his very own. He is really warming up to my husband and I and his personality is beginning to shine. We have discovered that he loves to be brushed — he will literally sit for hours if I\'ve got the ZoomGroom! He is still a shy rabbit, but it is obvious that he trusts us and is comfortable around us by the careless way that he sprawls out when we are around. We also discovered that he is a VERY good jumper, he can easily escape his pen area, which is almost four feet tall. He is such a big rabbit, we are always chuckling because when he hops around, you can hear it all throughout the house. Thump, thump, thump! He also greets us each morning with lots of happy binkies, which makes us smile every day. We are so glad to have him with us and we are so glad that he finally has a home after all those years of foster care!"

document.write('"Marissa — aka Mittens (her new nickname) — is doing great! She was nervous for the first day or two but she got comfortable very quickly. During the middle of the night the first night, she threw her pellets across the cage and tipped her litter pan over. She’d hide when we’d come near her but ever since the second day, she gets excited to come to us. She loves to get hopping and running time every afternoon/early evening. She also likes her cuddle time with my sons Luke and Jake. If Luke falls asleep with her, she has woken him by licking his face. She is such a sweet bunny — we just love her!"

"Now that I\'ve been volunteering with Minnesota Rabbit Companion Society almost two years (I think), I thought I would share a a little something of my two buns from MCRS.

"I knew nothing about MCRS or bunnies prior to volunteering. I started out volunteering with MCRS due to a corporate coaxing to volunteer anywhere. I love animals and figured bunnies couldn\'t give me much grief :) All the bunnies we\'ve taken care of at West St Paul PETCO have taught me something — how to cuddle, when not to cuddle, how hard they bite and kick, how sweet some of the wildest can be, how bunnies snort and growl (never knew that one), and how they lick you with love. Mostly, it was how they can be so delicate yet, at the same time, some of the toughest animals I know.

Her foster parents warned me she had a few bad habits but, with time, we broke her of them. Most of them anyway. Her and Stu hit it off right away and the two started living together pretty soon.
