July 2007 - Latifah, the Master Gardener

Our most recent photo was submitted by MCRS foster mom, Mary A. It appears to be a photo of foster bunny, Latifah, innocently exploring the world around her with sweet, wide-eyed bunny enthusiasm. Although we are hard-pressed to believe otherwise, Mary tells a different, darker story. She wrote to us explaining, "I brought my rosemary in for the winter. Latifah jumped up to the table and gave it a nice sculptured topiary. Then she ate the evidence. I call the result of her work "Giraffe with Missing Leg" ... The rosemary is now outside, and growing back some legs."

"Here is the shot of Latifah's work. If that's not a giraffe with missing legs I'll never be able to identify one in the wild. I think we can hire her out. After all, anyone who knows her knows she is a girl that needs a j-o-b!"

We tried to contact Latifah for comment, but she repeatedly declined our requests for interviews. Her agent, however, sent the following statement. "Latifah is an artist whose creativity cannot be stifled." Apparently, neither can her appetite. : )
