Rabbit Care and Information
All information on this site is intended for people seeking information about indoor, companion rabbits. Pet rabbits living outdoors, breeding rabbits, or livestock rabbits have different needs such as different caloric intake and different housing needs. The House Rabbit Society web site has a wide variety of information available. The "search" function is at the very bottom of their main web page.
We are constantly updating our site and will be adding more care information as time goes on. In the meantime, check out the House Rabbit Society FAQs listed on this page for excellent sources of additional information.
| Balanced Diet for House Rabbits Although many people may believe that a commercial pellet should be the basis for a healthy rabbit diet, in reality that is not the case. A house rabbit's diet should be made up of good quality pellets, fresh hay, water and fresh vegetables. Anything beyond that is a "treat" and should be given in limited quantities. See the "Food Pyramid for Rabbits" and learn the details from a MCRS recommended veterinarian. |
Rabbit NIC Condos Finding housing that meets the needs of your rabbit and doesn't break your budget can be a difficult task. Homemade NIC condos can provide a very flexible and affordable option without requiring a large time investment or a lot of technical know-how. |
| Your Bunny and Your AllergiesYou can control your allergies without giving up your furry friends. Learn how one MCRS leader learned to cope. |
